Position Summary

The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

The Clinic Coordinator works onsite to provide administrative support to for the Early Childhood Clinical Services Unit, including the Early Childhood Evaluation Program (ECEP) and Early Childhood Mental Health Services, which is part of the CDD's Early Childhood Home and Family Services Division.

This position is part of a team that supports clinic functions, including registering and scheduling evaluation appointments, in MS Outlook calendar and in PowerChart. Regularly utilizing PowerChart to manage client information and printing final reports following Private Health Information guidelines. Entering data into internal databases and assist with funder reporting and invoicing purposes. The person will also participate in the referral process while overseeing the retrieval of client medical records.

The Clinic Coordinator may be asked to purchase clinic supplies and materials with a UNM purchasing card, and process miscellaneous reimbursements for staff using web-based financial systems. This individual will perform a variety of other clinical administrative duties including receiving and responding to phone inquiries, prepare standard forms and documents, and may assist with editing and proofing documents.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Experience

  • providing clinical supportive services to diverse families and children.
  • providing administrative support (especially scheduling) in a direct service environment.
  • working effectively with a wide range of medical and administrative staff.
  • working with CERNER, PowerChart or similar EMR

Patient or customer service skills in a clinical setting handling private information and maintaining confidentiality.

Computer and software skills, including electronic medical record systems.

Strong teaming and organizational skills.

Knowledge of medical records management procedures.

Additional RequirementsThis position requires passing a Background check with fingerprinting.
