Position Summary | As a nationally accreditedprogram with a strong educational component in The University of New MexicoSchool of Medicine, the Office of the Medical Investigator (OMI) investigatesany death occurring across the state of New Mexico that is sudden, violent,untimely, unexpected or where a person is found dead and the cause of death isunknown. The OMI, which is a special program within the Department ofPathology, determines the cause and manner of death in these cases, andprovides formal death certification. OMI is currently seeking an InventorySupply Coordinator in the Operations Department. This position will monitor andmaintain inventory levels for the department and process and track purchaseorders which will require strong knowledge of equipment and supply usages. Thisindividual will create and maintain accurate documentation for all items instock and track status as items are disbursed and returned to includeinspecting inventory condition for distribution and recycling purposes. Ourideal candidate will have inventory management experience and databasemaintenance skills. In addition, strong communication skills and independentjudgement in problem resolution are essential to the support of operationalefficiency. Due to the sensitive nature of the service we provide, the work mayinvolve moderate exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke,unpleasant odors and loud noises. The physical component of this positionrequires moderate activity and handling of average-weight objects up to 25pounds or standing/walking more than four (4) hours per day. Minimum Qualifications | High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
