Coord,Outreach - req# 6665
The UNM Department of Emergency Medicine, Center for Injury Prevention Research and Education is seeking a highly qualified Outreach Coordinator. The position will act as a subject matter expert on pedestrian and bicycle injury prevention by developing educational materials, conducting community outreach, and providing face-to-face training. The position will serve as the liaison to law enforcement agencies, state and federal transportation agencies, and community advocacy groups in all areas of New Mexico. Job duties will include developing and coordinating the social media and on-line outreach activities for the Pedestrian Safety Initiative including responding to request for information from members of the public. The position will also track outreach activities and community participation for reporting to the NM Traffic Safety Bureau and the UNM HSC Community Outreach database.
The position may involve some short-term state and national travel, and occasional weekend and evening hours. Term appointment; funding available through September 30, 2019; continuance beyond that date is subject to availability of additional funding.
|Conditions of Employment|
High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
· Experience with advocacy or education related to multi-modal transportation, road safety, or community development.
· Current New Mexico Driver's license
· Demonstrated ability to effectively present educational presentations in small and large groups settings.
· Experience creating and managing printed, social media and web-based outreach.
· Demonstrated ability to create high-quality written reports.
