Position Summary

Coordinates and administers a funded research study/activity or group of associated activities. Assists in project planning, and ensures that pre-established work scope, study protocol, and regulatory requirements are followed. Establishes and maintains budgets and fiscal controls for the project, and assists in the development of grant proposals. Recruits and coordinates research subjects, as appropriate, and serves as principle administrative liaison for the project. Oversees and coordinates the provision of administrative and staff services to investigators; develops and maintains recordkeeping systems and procedures.

The Department of Psychiatry is seeking a dynamic candidate to coordinate funded research for a busy and growing research facility focused on clinical research in schizophrenia and other mental illnesses. This is a high energy position that requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize. Will work as part of a research team to conduct high quality research with a mentally ill population, including implementing neuroimaging and clinical protocols. Will be responsible for coordinating the administrative, fiscal management and recruitment aspects of multiple on-going studies, will work with confidential data and sensitive health information, and will work directly with patients and families for evaluative and consultative purposes. Will maintain study regulatory compliance and will serve as a liaison among sponsors, investigators, and external constituencies. Will be responsible for data collection, quality assurance, routine study and laboratory procedures, protocol implementation and adherence. This position will require excellent administrative, clinical and teamwork skills. Qualified candidates must have experience with subject recruitment and clinical interviewing.

  • Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check. Additional health screenings may be required, dependent on the nature of the research conducted, as determined by Employee Occupational Health Services.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • BA or BS degree, psychology or related field
  • Experience coordinating clinical research studies, including screening/recruiting
  • Experience administering psychiatric assessments
  • Experience with regulatory requirements and Institutional Review Boards
  • Experience with MRI and MEG
  • Experience with informed consent processes with mentally ill populations
  • Experience in basic phlebotomy procedures
