Position Summary

The UNM College of Education is seeking qualified applicants for two half-time (.5FTE) Coordinator of Education Support positions. We seek applicants from individuals who are efficient, friendly, flexible, and enthusiastic, who possess excellent communication skills, as well as a strong skill set and work ethic. The successful candidates will work 20 hours per week in one of the 5 COE Departments. Currently, we have a need in the Department of Individual, Family & Community Education (IFCE), and the Department of Health, Exercise and Sports Sciences (HESS). Successful candidates will be matched with a department based on their unique skills, qualifications and needs of the departments.

These positions will provide support to a designated COE Department in the following ways:

Assist prospective and current students regarding admission to Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral Programs in the Department of IFCE (Counseling, Educational Psychology, Nutrition, and Family & Child Studies) and in the Department of HESS (Exercise Science, Athletic Training, Sports Administration & Physical Education Teacher Education). The candidates will field phone calls regarding application process/deadlines, initiating course over-rides, process graduate student paperwork from application to graduation with follow up on the status of the
paperwork; creates the application rubrics and bundles in AppReview to assist faculty in the review of prospective students.

They will also extract data and create ad hoc reports and statements to support college and department reporting efforts, including for APRs and Accreditation; organize materials for new student orientation each semester, reserves room, ensures equipment is available and other meeting materials are met; Update advisement sheets and drafts letter and memos to students for faculty; and organize and maintain student files. The successful candidates will also create/maintain databases for current and matriculated students with admission and graduation information.

Additional responsibilities include assisting with purchases and procurements, obtaining a PCard and following purchasing guidelines and policies to purchase materials for the department from various funding sources, including from course fees to support classrooms and academic offerings. Coordinators of Education Support will also assist in the coordination of travel for Faculty members, which includes making travel arrangements, and processing reimbursements for travel.

Lastly, the successful candidates may write, edit, and coordinate development of schedules, course catalogs, promotional materials, educational materials, training manuals, newsletters, brochures. They will perform or oversee clerical and administrative support tasks, including answering telephones, assisting and resolving problems and inquiries of staff, faculty, students, and visitors, reviewing and organizing incoming and outgoing correspondence, and other similar duties, as assigned.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience working with students, student data and reporting, as evidenced in resume and cover letter.

2. Strong time management and organizational skills, as evidenced in resume and cover letter.

3 Experience using various technologies, including Microsoft Office programs, database software, Banner, Chrome River, MyReports and other software used in the UNM system, as evidenced in resume and cover letter.

4. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills as demonstrated within the resume and cover letter.
