|Position Summary||UNM Student Health and Counseling is soliciting applicationsfor a Licensed Clinical Counselor/Licensed Clinical Social Worker. This is a full-timeposition in Student Health and Counseling. The person in this position will provide assessment,therapy, and consultation services to UNM students. UNM is a Public Universitywith an enrollment of approximately 23,000 located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.The high altitude and relatively mild weather affords many year-roundrecreational opportunities. New Mexico offers a rich cultural climate with a diversepopulation and a welcoming attitude.|
|Conditions of Employment|
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or an equivalent field; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Certification/LicensureLicensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) or equivalent OR Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) or equivalent OR licensure pending, as documented by temporary license.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
|Preferred Qualifications||1. Knowledge of psychological theories and practices with diverseclients|
2. Experience with treating older adolescents and/or youngadults in an outpatient mental health setting
3. Experience assessing and managing mental health emergencysituations in college student population
4. Experience in successfully applying time-limitedtreatment methods and demonstrated ability to handle a large case-load in asetting with a high intake rate
5. Skills in use of technology in Behavioral Healthtreatment
6. Demonstrated ability and comfort with public speaking togroups of varying sizes
7. Interest and experience in conducting outreach programsand workshops in a public setting
