Position Summary

Passionate about Adult Education? Take the helm at the TaosEducation and Career Center @ UNM-Taos. TECC @ UNM-Taos is a top performingprogram in the state and has garnered national recognition. The Educationand Development Manager will oversee all programming, including CareerPathways, High School Equivalency, English Language Acquisition, BasicLiteracy, and College Readiness.
We seek a visionary and skilled administratorto support the program in sustaining and growing its success based on a thoroughunderstanding of current national best practices for the field. The Educationand Development Manager writes, manages, and reports on multiple state,federal, and private grants, is responsible for all corresponding budgets,supervises all staff and instructors, maintains strong community andgovernmental partnerships, and oversees curricula, professional development,and strategic planning.
TECC is a component of UNM-Taos’ campus-wide dedicationto student success and the Education and Development Manager must effectivelycollaborate across multiple departments.
TECC operates under the Office ofAcademic Affairs and this position reports to the Program Operations Directorfor Student Support Services. The job requires ability to travel, occasionallywork on weekends, and to model professionalism and commitment to TECC @UNM-Taos’ overall mission and vision.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Strong leadership skills, including demonstrated ability to build and sustain an effective team;
  2. Skill in working with diverse populations including adult and adolescents from different socioeconomic backgrounds, race and ethnicities;
  3. Experience in managing multiple and concurrent educational grants and projects, including grant writing and reporting, data analysis, and budget development and oversight.
  4. Ability to create, teach, and oversee innovative, student-centered curriculum that is effective for non-traditional learners and that is based on expertise in national best practices for adult learning;
  5. Ability to supervise and mentor staff and instructors, inspiring excellence in the workplace and in the classroom;
  6. Experience in fundraising, donor development, and in sustaining strong community partnerships to ensure program success, both financially and as part of the larger community network of student supports;
  7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
