Position Summary

The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

CDD’s Family and Community Partnerships Division Mi Via Program is seeking to hire multiple individuals to provide education and consultation to program participants. The individuals hired for this position will help participants navigate through all Mi Via processes. They will provide assistance and guidance with eligibility, certification, pre-planning, service and support plan development, implementation, and revisions as part of their assigned caseload.

The individuals hired will be responsible for providing education and training to participants served including participation in the development of training aids and guides. The successful candidate will be working with a dynamic team of professionals to meet the needs of Mi Via participants throughout New Mexico.

This position requires regular statewide travel, a background check and fingerprinting.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Experience

  • working with and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
  • accessing state and community systems, services and resources for persons with disabilities and their families.
  • with self-directed supports and person centered planning tools leading to the development and implementation of goals and activities.

Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.

Strong analytic, problem solving and writing skills.

Skill in the use of computers and navigating multiple software programs.
Additional RequirementsDOH Background Check and Fingerprinting required. This position also requires state wide travel.
