Position Summary | UNM Taos anticipates hiring a New Mexico resident for an Adjunct Faculty to teach in the Fall2025 semester for the UNM Taos EMS Education Program to teach and/or develop EMS LowerDivision Courses (100-200 Level). These courses meet the NHTSA EMT-Basic National Standard Curriculumrequirements and incorporates New Mexico EMT-B and EMT-I scope of practice.Provides lecture instruction to prepare the student to sit for New Mexico andNational Registry testing. |
Qualifications | Minimum Qualifications to teach or develop EMS initial licensure courses in New Mexico is governed by The Joint Organization on Education EMS Instructor/Coordinator Standards: https://www.nmhealth.org/about/erd/emsb/comm/#joe and includes the following: · Associate degree or higher · Current NM EMS provider license at or above the level being taught · 21 years of age · At least 5 years of relevant clinical experience Preferred Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree or higher in EMS or related field · Current NM Instructor/Coordinator (NM I/C) certification or in process with a UNM-EMS Academy approved I/C course · 2 years of relevant teaching experience · Successful teaching experience in a post-secondary institution · Successful teaching in a community college · A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities. |
