Position Summary

The University of New Mexico-Valencia is currently seeking outgoing candidateswith strong communication skills for the position of Community and Outreach Specialist for our Early,Non-Academic, Revitalize, Outreach, Learning Support and Learning (ENROLL)Program.

This position will work with the Program Director in atwo-pronged approach to outreach; 1) K-12, and 2) Industry. This position will develop, coordinate, andlead events/programs with area high schools establishing a school presence. The Coordinator willperiodically meet with students in conjunction with the schools’ counselors to promote the events which are developed to acclimate students to the UNM-Valencia campus and create a seamless transition from high school to college. This position will also be the liaison for industryoutreach in the local community and will focus on strengthening existingpartnerships while building new ones to establish internships, as well as work withthe campus donor relations manager building scholarships.


This is a grant funded position with current funding throughDecember 2027, to be institutionalized thereafter.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, TheUniversity of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of TheUniversity of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the regionand is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis onteaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs,technical programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit courses to high schools inValencia and Socorro Counties. The faculty and staff serve a student bodyof over 2,000 students per semester.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Spanish/English bi-lingual
  • Demonstrated experience working with low-income, diverse populations
