Position Summary

TheUniversity of New Mexico-Valencia is currently seeking outgoing candidates withstrong communication skills for the position of Community and OutreachSpecialist (Outreach Coordinator) for our Early, Non-Academic, Revitalize, Outreach, Learning Supportand Learning (ENROLL) Program.  

This position will work with the Program Director in a two-pronged approach tooutreach; 1) K-12, and 2) Industry.  This position will develop,coordinate, and lead events/programs with area high schools establishing aschool presence. The Coordinator will periodically meet with students inconjunction with the schools’ counselors to promote the events which aredeveloped to acclimate students to the UNM-Valencia campus and create aseamless transition from high school to college.  This position will alsobe the liaison for industry outreach in the local community and will focus onstrengthening existing partnerships while building new ones to establishinternships, as well as work with the campus donor relations manager buildingscholarships.  This is a grant funded position with current funding through December 2027, tobe institutionalized thereafter.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in ruralValencia County, The University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-yearbranch campus of The University of New Mexico which functions as a communitycollege in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academictransfer programs, technical programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit coursesto high schools in Valencia and Socorro Counties.  The faculty and staffserve a student body of over 2,000 students per semester.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
