Position SummaryUNMDivision for Equity and Inclusion (DEI), is seeking a motivated, dynamic,detail-oriented individual to join the team as Executive Assistant (EA). The successful candidate willcoordinate, oversee and/or perform a wide variety of administrative supportactivities on behalf of DEI, with primary responsibility for maintainingthe calendar of the Vice President for Equity and Inclusion (VPEI). Serves as primary point of operational andadministrative contact for internal and external constituencies. EA willmanage special programs for VPEI and work with Program Manager to overseeplanning and coordination of special events on behalf of VPEI. Assists in the supervision ofstudent employees.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 2 years of experience managing at least one of the following functional areas: fiscal services, administration and/or human resources AND 3 years of additional experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
  • At least 3 years of experience managing at least one ofthe following functional areas: fiscal services, administration and/or humanresources AND 3 years of additional experience directly related to the dutiesand responsibilities specified.
  • Proven knowledge of executive leveladministrative principles and practices
  • Experience working for an ExecutiveDirector or higher
  • Highly adept at coordinating multiple calendars utilizingOutlook, Google Calendar, or like technologies
  • Events planning experience
  • Communications & marketing skills and experience
  • Team player that embracesa collaborative approach
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting an inclusive environment at UNM

FYI, Duty 1: EA will efficiently and effectively maintain the Outlook calendar of the Vice President for Equity and Inclusion (VPEI), including scheduling 1:1, small and large group meetings, and meetings that include local, national, and international partners (50%). Duty 2: EA will receive, screen, evaluate, and determine appropriate response to all written correspondence received by DEI; and will suggest responses, as appropriate (10%). Duty 3: EA will manage special programs for VPEI (such as Inclusive Excellence postdoc and hiring programs, HHMI Mentoring program, and the like), and work with Program Manager to oversee planning and coordination of special events on behalf of VPEI (10%). Expectation: EA is expected to promote an inclusive environment that encompasses justice, equity, accessibility, and support UNM’s diverse student body.
