Position Summary

The UNM Health Sciences CenterMarketing and Communications Department is looking for an exceptional writer!Reporting to the HSC Director of Communications, the selected candidate willwork closely with executive levels of leadership to write a variety of communicationsfor large audiences. The selected candidate will have the support of a highlyexperienced communications and marketing team behind them providing assistanceon various projects. The right person for this role will be excited about allthe ways the UNM Health Sciences Center is working to create New Mexico’shealth care workforce, providing critical care for all New Mexicans, andsupporting our students’ success. While a hybrid work schedule can beaccommodated, this position does require time on-campus, with possible limitedwork on evenings and weekends.

Details of the role:

* Will work with executive andsenior HSC leadership to write, create, and strategize internal and externalcommunications.
* Will write a weekly memo foran executive leader that is distributed across the HSC campus and beyond.
* Will write speeches andtalking points for a variety of events including graduations, faculty andprovider work groups, student groups, legislators, conferences, and otherpublic facing events.
* Will work in tandem withleadership at UNM HSC Marketing and Communications to organize and strategizeeffective executive communications.
* Will work with software usedfor mass emailing to create, produce, and distribute internal communications.
* The person chosen for thisposition may be asked to assist creating collateral that would be used forother executive communications.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

* At least 2 years ofexperience writing for an executive leader

* Experience working in highereducation communications

* Experience working in health care or health care communications
