Position SummaryThis position is at the Harwood Museum in Taos NM. The position manages physical plant and maintenance operations for a University historical museum consisting of multiple buildings. Oversees building scheduling and maintenance, custodial, safety, security, construction, and grounds maintenance. Plans and implements capital renewal and replacement projects for the facility, and develops and implements operating policies and procedures.

Conditions of Employment
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification/Licensure HVAC-related Journeyman's license OR Journeyman Electrician's License OR NM CID Low Pressure Boiler License.
  • Physical activity including lifting, pushing or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds as well as climbing/working from ladders up to 36 feet.
  • Extensive experience with budgets, equipment inventory, staff supervision, creating and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Experience with Excel, Word and other software programs.
Additional RequirementsSkilled in the use of computers and UNM related software applications. Official transcripts, high school diploma or GED certificate will be required for hire. Future and/or continued employment in the position is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining a satisfactory background check, which is one that does not include any disqualifying findings.
