Field Research Tech/Life Sci - Denkers - req# 29962

Seeking a research technician in a laboratory conducting biomedical research on immune responses to infection. In addition to day-to-day lab maintenance tasks there is opportunity and expectation for the individual to become directly involved in research. Must be willing to work with BSL2 microbes and laboratory mice. Safe-practice training in each of these areas will be provided.

Specific duties include:
1. Collects, prepares, processes, logs and compiles research data, samples, solutions, materials, and/or media in strict accordance to pre-established protocol and procedural parameters.
2. Obtains and processes data using standardized procedures; enters data into appropriate databases and performs basic interpretations.
3. Sets up, operates, and maintains a variety of standard laboratory or test equipment of moderate complexity, such as autoclaves, centrifuges, incubators, and microscopes.
4. Monitors, stocks, and procures research equipment and supplies inventories, as appropriate.
5. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

• Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.

Vocational-Technical Training directly related Life Sciences field; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

B.A/B.S science degree from an accredited university
