The Department of Pediatrics is a statewide provider for Pediatric care. Through a network of hospitals, clinics, and community based services that are integrally linked to the education and research mission of UNM, Children's Hospital and Health Services providers apply advanced medical science and an abiding concern for the well-being of children to improve and restore health for New Mexico's youngest residents.
The Accounting team is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the department in financial reporting for Research, Budget, Clinical and Non-Clinical activities. This individual will also perform various revenue/expense budget analysis, forecasting, and provide accounting and technical support to divisions, develop financial reports or indicators, and ensure general financial management and consistency in adherence to policy. This role reports directly to the Pediatrics Accounting Manager.
We are looking for a motivated, detail oriented self-starter with a strong business, finance and/or accounting background, technical proficiency in financial systems and processes, and solid experience in financial budgeting, reporting and data analysis. This person will perform and/or oversee strategic broad-impact financial analysis, develop automated financial reporting and systems development. This individual will also deliver financial and business training programs, as appropriate. The successful candidate will demonstrate oral and written communication skills, be able to manage multiple small to large projects simultaneously and work as a lead and/or member of a team.
Must have excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Access database reporting and advanced Excel skills for modeling and managing large amounts of data. Good logic, hands-on approach to problem solving and tackling issues with both non-financial and financial staff. Ability to effectively summarize and communicate information to various levels of the organization, make independent judgments and maintain confidentiality.
Occasional evening and weekend hours necessary.

Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
