Position Summary

The Department of Internal Medicine is one of the largest departments within the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, representing an annual budget of $57.5m. The Department is comprised of 13 clinical Divisions, three research focused divisions, 173 Faculty and 93 staff. Additionally, the Department supports 48 VA faculty and 17 working retirees. The Department is currently looking for a Fiscal Services Tech to provide assistance to the accounting staff for the day-to-day operational demands. Specifically, duties relating to the maintenance of the centralized email requests, perform transactional duties specific to the posting of journal entries, expense reimbursement approvals, processing purchasing requests, conducting basic account reconciliations, and the preparation and processing of general accounting data at the direction of the Fiscal Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Actively pursuing a degree in business with accounting or finance emphasis, or at least nine (9) Accounting or related business credit hours. Ability to respond to a range of inquiries/problem solving ability, experience in general ledger systems, knowledge of general purchasing policies and procedures.
