Position Summary
The College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is seeking a HS Research Assistant to provide technical assistance for research studies in field, clinic, and/or health sciences laboratory research settings on Navajo Nation. The selected candidate will assist with the collection of data, samples, and/or specimens, under specific instructions from researchers and/or more senior technical staff. The HS Research Assistant will provide assistance, as specifically instructed, with routine tests, experiments, the execution of routine research protocol, such as interviewing, testing, and/or scientific procedures. The selected candidate will also assist with data entry and consenting study participants.

This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated early-career professional to assist with research on the Navajo Nation.

Selected candidate must have a valid NM or AZ Driver's License.

Conditions of Employment
  • A valid New Mexico driver's license will be required if a motor vehicle must be operated on the job.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED; no previous experience required.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Navajo language skills
  • Knowledge of data collection practices
  • Experience in health care, public health education, and/or providing patient care
  • Experience working with community-based healthcare
  • Certified Phlebotomist
