Position Summary
The University of New Mexico, Department of Psychiatry Division of Community Behavioral Health (CBH) is seeking a self-motivated individual to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team in the capacity of a HS Research Tech 1. The mission of CBH is to address health care disparities through: health services research and evaluation; capacity building; training and workforce development; and through increasing access to quality behavioral health services that are holistic, cost-effective and provided with respect to unique cultures within New Mexico communities.

The duties and responsibilities of the HS Research Tech 1 will include but not be limited to the following:

* Conduct on-site data collection for behavioral health services research and evaluation initiatives related to initiatives, such as: trauma-informed care, veteran’s services, homelessness, mental health, and substance-related issues.

* Be responsible for collecting interview data within an established research protocol and under specific instruction from the UNM evaluation team.
* Data collection following strict protocol and detailed instructions; data entry into a computer-based data entry program
* Conducting lengthy interviews with patients and providers
* Participating in multiple weekly team meetings
* Assisting with other research tasks as assigned.

The qualified candidate will have knowledge of behavioral health services research and be skilled in establishing and maintaining community relationships; scheduling, coordinating, and administering standardized assessments.

This is an on-call position and is not eligible for benefits. Please note that this position will require travel within New Mexico. We plan to hire multiple positions from this posting. The position location for each is to be determined, based on grant requirements.

Conditions of Employment
  • For individual positions in which driving is a job requirement, a valid NM driver's license and valid UNM driver's permit will be required.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
  • Annual TB testing may be required if working in a patient care area.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of directly related student practicum or equivalent experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience in conducting standardized research interviews
  2. Demonstrated experience conducting research and adhering to protocols
  3. Experience working with under-served populations
  4. Experience working with behavioral health related issues
  5. Experience with Crisis Intervention Team Training, Clinical Care, and Officer Wellness Initiatives
