Position Summary | Acell biology laboratory seeks a motivated HSC Research Tech 2 to become aproductive member of a small research group. The laboratory appliesmodern molecular and cellular biology approaches to the study of cellcommunication within both stem cell and tumor cellmicroenvironments. Animal handling skills are required for thisposition. The successful applicant must perform experiments withanimals and maintain the associated mouse colonies. In addition, strongorganizational skills are a must. Techniques to be used will include flowcytometry, RT-PCR, immunoblotting, microscopy, and cell culture. The candidatemust be accurate, highly motivated, and able to work well with others in agoal-oriented, laboratory research environment. TheHealth Sciences Research Tech 2 performs standard research protocols, underdetailed and controlled research parameters, in a health sciences laboratorysetting. This position conducts a variety of standardized tests and procedures,prepares data, samples and/or specimens, sets up and operates standardlaboratory equipment of standard complexity, verifies and records data, andperforms preliminary manipulation of experiment and/or test results, providingbasic data analyses, summaries and interpretations. Minimum Qualifications | High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
