Position Summary

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology is seeking afull-time position for an IT Support Tech 1 who will be responsible forproviding daily support, basic problem-solving and assistance with varioussoftware applications and hardware systems for the department. This positionprovides individual instruction and support to users on new or updatedtechnologies. Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Provide Technical Support: Offering assistance, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to equipment, software applications, hardware systems, and network problems for department users.
  • Inventory Tracking: Coordinate inventory levels of equipment and materials, performing data entry and maintaining records in FAMIS and other systems.
  • Technology Evaluation: Assist in the review, evaluation, and recommendation of hardware and software acquisitions and/or network updates to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Installation: Participate in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computers, workstations, and other related equipment and devices for department users.
  • Website and Intranet: Provide basic support for the department website and intranet pages.
  • Other equipment, software and technical related requests, as needed.

OB-GYN Department work hours are Monday-Friday from8:00am-5:00pm.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in IT support or a related role is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to provide effective technical assistance and training.
  • Familiarity with various software applications, hardware systems, and network environments.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ticketing systems
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for Windows, macOS, and other programs.
  • Experience with Active Directory (user account creation, password resets, group policy management).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Cerner, RedCap and other similar productivity suites.
  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts (IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, VPNs).
  • Understanding of hardware components and peripherals (printers, scanners, faxing, monitors).
  • Experience with remote desktop tools (e.g., MS Teams, Zoom, TigerText, etc.).
  • Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot software applications.
