Position Summary

The Office of Education, Applied Cognition Medical SciencesProgram (ACMSP) is seeking an individual that will provide, and help develop, servicesand programs that contribute to academic success to medical students in allphases of the School of Medicine curriculum. The successful candidate willfocus on helping students reach their goals of establishing a career inmedicine, and contribute to departmental programming that helps buildconnections and achieve success. This position will report to the Director ofACMSP.

Responsibilities forthe position include, but are not limited to the following:

Develops and coordinates peer tutoring services.
Instructs seminars and provide individual counseling to students preparing for standardized exams such as USMLE Step I and II.
Assist and review student exams and work products. Help students analyze their performance, identify barriers to academic success, and develop strategies to optimize academic performance.
Keep accurate, thorough, up-to-date, accessible records of student contacts, growth, and progress.
Collaborate and build rapport with university faculty, staff that facilitates, invites, and deepens the development and use of the student support services available.
Monitors student progress and prepares communications as required.
Provide some HR support as required for hiring peer tutors, will also supervise the peer tutors.

  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications Ability to process/analyze information and effectively communicate it to students.
Create and promote an inclusive environment.
High level of personal organization and planning
Must be extremely disciplined and have a strong work ethic.
Ability to adapt to changing demands, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
