Position Summary

The Nutrition & Dietetics Program at the University of New Mexico invites applications for a full-time, 9-month appointment Lecturer II position in the Nutrition & Dietetics Program beginning in the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. The UNM Nutrition & Dietetics Program has a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) and a Dietetic Internship (DI), both accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), and a Master of Science Program in Nutrition. The Lecturer will teach undergraduate courses in the UNM Nutrition & Dietetics Program.

UNM is the state’s flagship research university as well as a Hispanic-Serving Institution classified as a Carnegie Research University with Highest Research Activity. UNM also has strong connections with 23 tribal nations located within New Mexico. As such, successful candidates must be committed to working with broadly diverse student and community populations.

The successful candidate willteach undergraduate courses in the Nutrition & Dietetics Program. Some ofthe courses may include Nutrition for Health, Human Nutrition, Methods inNutrition Education, Management in Dietetics, Energy Nutrients in HumanNutrition, and Vitamins and Minerals in Human Nutrition.

UNM is located in Albuquerque - ametropolitan area of more than 500,000 people - between the beautiful RioGrande River and the picturesque Sandia Mountains. Albuquerque is a unique citywith a blend of traditions, people, and cultures. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Nutrition by start date, August 2020.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) by start date, August 2020.
  • At least 1 year experience teaching nutrition or related area at the college or university undergraduate level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with student of diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Experience teaching hybrid and online courses.
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
