The University of New Mexico, Valencia Campus is accepting applications for Lecturer II or III and Director, Nursing, a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track position.
Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, the University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of the University of New Mexico. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers vocational and technical courses as well as academic transfer courses to the citizens of Valencia and northern Socorro counties. The faculty and staff serve a student body of approximately 2,200 each semester.
Salary: Base salary for the position is $63,000. An excellent package of benefits is provided. Additionally, the position comes with an annual $5,000 SAC (special administrative component) for acting in the capacity of a division chair.
Summary of duties and responsibilities: Duties will include directing the ADN program and teaching a limited number of nursing courses. Duties assigned to the Director would include: scheduling courses; assisting with the management and supervision of allied health programs as required (Allied Health programs are alongside the Nursing program within the Health Sciences Division; Allied Health has its own program manager.); acting as a clinical resource and subject matter expert for the advisement of all program students; assisting in the recruitment, hiring and evaluation of faculty as well as recruiting students; collecting and analyzing data regarding student progress and certification; evaluating other division faculty; supervising the two staff people in the division; overseeing the division budget; being the point person for state and national accreditation; serving as liaison with NMNEC partner university; and performing other, related duties as assigned. Will work with low-income, first generation, minority students, disabled students, students with diverse backgrounds, and veterans. Responsibilities also include maintaining attendance, scholastic, and student records, as well as posting and maintaining office hours, participating in college committees, curriculum development, outcomes assessment, professional development (directly related to teaching field), departmental projects, and community service.
· Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN)
· Two years of experience teaching in a college Nursing program.
· Doctoral degree in Nursing.
· Leadership in a college Nursing program.
· Experience working with national Nursing accrediting agencies.
· Experience working with grants.
· Strong commitment to teaching, scholarly activities and professional service.
· Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
