University of New Mexico's College of Education and Human Sciences
Lecturer III in Educational Psychology
Starting in August 2026

The Educational Psychology Program at the University of New Mexico invites applications for a Lecturer III faculty position beginning August 2026. Responsibilities will include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and contributing service to the department, college, and the field. Salary will be commensurate with experience and education.

 

About UNM and the College of Education and Human Sciences
The UNM College of Education and Human Sciences, comprised of five academic departments, is a future-oriented, dynamic professional school. The Department of Individual, Family and Community Education is one of the largest departments in the college with the uniqueness of having Counselor Education, Educational Psychology, Family and Child Studies, and Nutrition/Dietetics together as an academic unit. The department has both undergraduate and graduate programs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Earned doctoral degree in educational psychology or a closely related field, by the appointment start date. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellence, or potential for excellence, in teaching educational psychology coursework, including human development, cognition and learning, and research methods, at the undergraduate level.
  • Experience teaching hybrid and/or online courses.
  • Ability to teach undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses to pre-service teachers including courses focused on classroom assessment and classroom learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and supervise graduate student instructors in teaching undergraduate courses.
  • Demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
