|Position Summary||The Department of Teacher Education, Educational Leadership, and Policy (TEELP) at the University of New Mexico, College of Education, invites applications, expressions of interest, and nominations for the position of Lecturer III in Reading/Literacy Education. The position may commence as early as August 2020, but shall remain open until filled. |
The UNM College of Education, comprised of five academic departments, is a future-oriented, dynamic professional school organized to reflect the following values: Advocacy, Building Professional Identities, Collaboration, Building School/University Partnerships, Diversity and Social Justice, Interdisciplinary Inquiry/Scholarship, and Teaching, Learning and Leadership.
The Lecturer III with specialization in reading/literacyeducation, is expected to teach undergraduates and graduates in ElementaryEducation licensure programs to support teacher candidates in their fieldexperience in order to build competence, care, cultural responsiveness,self-reflection, collegiality and evidence-based assessment. The Lecturer IIIin Reading/Literacy Education is expected to support university-schoolcollaborations; develop and teach in undergraduate and graduate programs, andprovide service to the program and department. This faculty member will also beexpected to participate in enhancing the coherence and effectiveness of the reading/literacycourse sequence and the department’s general teacher preparation programs.
