The University of New Mexico, Health Sciences Center, Departments of Internal MedicineandFamilyCommunityMedicine isseeking an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine trained physician to join our facultygroupinbeautifulAlbuquerque,NM. This 0.2FTE position will direct the Doctoring 1 course, which is the introductory clinical skills course for first year medical and physician assistant students.
Duties include but are not limited to
refine the course as needed to reflect changes in curricular priorities, evidence-based curricular methods and new educational technologies.
recruit and train faculty preceptors
prepare all preceptor material (preceptor syllabus, training materials, related handouts, etc.)
prepare all student material (educational videos, student syllabus, pre-assignments, handouts, etc.)
write/revise/grade all written examinations
coordinate with other Doctoring course directors,
coordinate with the Curriculum Support Center regarding logistics for all large and small group sessions
maintain the Brightspace site (the website for the course) which both students and preceptors access
coordinate with the Assessment and Learning office for all performance examinations, including revision of standardized patient cases as appropriate
coordinate with the Standardized Patient Program regarding training and implementation of all small group sessions and cases utilizing standardized patients
develop remediation plan for a non-passing student, as appropriate
collaborate with the student CQI group and the Curriculum Committee to allow continuous feedback-based improvement

Experience teaching as a small group facilitator in an introductory clinical skills course or similar;
Other teaching experience that has fostered understanding of longitudinal and horizontal curricular integration
