|Position Summary||The UNM-Taos Branch Libraryis looking for a part time Library Information Specialist I to assist inproviding quality service to the students, faculty, and the community-at-large.The position encompasses a variety of areas of responsibility in regards togeneral library operations as well as assistance with the online environmentand graphic design work for the promotion of the library. Under limitedsupervision, the Library Information Specialist will perform library tasksrelated to website design and maintenance, maintenance of all librarycomputers, library event planning, and answering reference questions as needed. |
The successful candidate will support the assistant librarian, coverthe circulation desk, and monitor the activities of students performing routinelibrary duties. This variety of duties and responsibilities makes foran exciting position
|Conditions of Employment|
High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Experience with automatedlibrary systems.
Experience developing flyers,brochures, newsletters and other graphic design projects for promotion andgeneral library information.
Ability to troubleshootoperational problems for relevant library systems, and assist with computerapplication questions.
Ability to provide guidanceand assistance to patrons regarding library services and resources.
Computer proficiency with PC and Mac computers, and comfortableworking with a variety of web interfaces.
