Position Summary | Thesuccessful Master Teacher organizes and provides developmentally appropriateearly childhood education programs; plans and implements curriculum standardsfor children ranging in age from six weeks to 14 years old; supervises andobserves teachers in classroom or other teaching settings to assess relevantskills, and recommends methods and strategies appropriate to the achievement ofproject goals; plans and prepares classroom setting; oversees safety and educationalprograms; supervises children in the classroom; provides a supportiveenvironment in which children can learn and practice appropriate and acceptableindividual and group behaviors; leads and functionally supervises assignedstaff and students, to include work allocation, training, and problemresolution; provides performance management feedback as appropriate;involvement with daily classroom scheduling and other administrative duties asassigned including compiling data, writing reports, and overseeing complianceof licensing regulations. Thisis a direct supervisor position that must be on-site and available to Teachers,Children, and Families on a day-to-day basis. This person must also haveexperience working with young children in an educational setting. ThisMaster Teacher oversees compliance with The State of New Mexico CYFD licensingrequirements for childcare, as well as compliance with our Tiered QualityImprovement Rating System (FOCUS) and our National Accreditation through TheNational Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The earlychildhood programs provided by our department provide services to 300 families;the Master Teacher will support the teaching staff in providing consistent andhigh-quality programming aligning with the UNMCC philosophy and the Universityof New Mexico policies. Theclassrooms and teaching staff consist of 15 classrooms, 45 teaching staff, 40student staff, and 300 families on a daily basis. This includes directsupervision, along with two other Master Teachers, to ensure licensingcompliance and all appropriate safety measures. |

Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
