Position Summary | TheUNM Department of Dermatology is seeking an energetic, self-motivated MedicalEducation Program Specialist. The Medical Education Program Specialist plansand implements all initiatives and administrative aspects of the ACGME General DermatologyResidency program. Will assess and direct a wide range of programmatic issuesincluding long range planning, recruiting trainees, developing projects,analyzing administrative workflow, maintaining databases, communicating withfaculty and trainees, and manage internal and external program relations.Position coordinates resident recruitment, selection and onboarding, provisionof services to residents; oversees the establishment and maintenance of complexclinical rotations schedules, and the recruitment of internal/or external sitesand preceptors. Positionis responsible for the day-to-day operational and financial management of theresidency program to include maintenance and tracking of documentation requiredfor accreditation, monitoring budgets, personnel issues, and coordination ofspecial events including site visits and graduation. Will serve as the primarypoint of contact and liaison with the Program Director, incoming and currentresidents, faculty, and governing agencies. Duties require expertise withmultiple MS Office programs, specialized application systems, basic accounting,hiring contracts and purchasing, as well as experience with developingpromotional or educational materials. Theideal candidate must be able to work closely and effectively with a variety ofpeople in a fast-paced environment, be detail-oriented and able to adapt tochanging priorities. The Medical Education Program Specialist must be anexcellent communicator with proven success in a team environment, be extremelyorganized, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain completeconfidentiality. This position holds a UNM Purchasing card and supervises anassistant. |

Minimum Qualifications | High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
