| Position Summary | The Department of Neurosurgery in the UNM School of Medicine plays a critical role in improving the health of all New Mexicans. Our department is the Southwestern hub for advanced neurological diagnosis and patient care. We seek a dynamic individual to join our team as a Medical Practice Specialist and be a part of our important mission and exciting growth. This position will play an important role in advising and assisting faculty providers with strategic billing and documentation issues including group level and individual coding to enhance the financial well-being of the department. This position will act as a strategic partner with the Chair of Neurosurgery and the Department Administrator to advance the strategic plans and goals of Neurosurgery. The Department of Neurosurgery values professional development and continuing education and in this spirit will support this position obtaining professional certification(s) such as the American College of Medical Practice Executive (ACMPE). | Minimum Qualifications | High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
