Position Summary

Manages the day-to-day operations of the Harding Mine. The Harding Mine is located in Northern New Mexico in Taos County in Dixon off Highway 75.

Maintains access road, places signs as required, and ensures safety of the mine area. Maintain fencing, large sink holes and gate access.

Conducts tours for visitors and provides information on the mine's history; assists visitors in identifying local minerals.

Obtains visitor liability releases and maintains sign-in logs. Scheduling of field trips for University and non University access.

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

* Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

* Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.

* Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.

* Knowledge of mineral identification.

* Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions.

* Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
