Position Summary

Great job with a great team serving listeners across central and northern New Mexico. This position has a lot of demands, so we expect to provide appropriate training to our successful candidate. If you have graphic design skills, we can train on audio and video. We’re looking for an active online graphics and multimedia content producer. Great UNM benefits and some flexibility in work hours and hybrid (in-person / remote) scheduling.

Under direct supervision of Programming, Development, and Production department leadership performs a wide range of creative multimedia support functions, such as audio and video production, editing and the coordination of radio broadcasts and online content. Assists in development and prepares graphic presentation materials.

Develops and prepares fundraising and broadcast materials; directs and produces KUNM’s graphic, audio and video content.

Graphic design for print, web, and ad specialties for the KUNM Development Department:

This position requires designing a monthly electronic newsletter, producing fundraising direct mail pieces from response cards to envelopes, advertising specialties, such as print ads, and graphics for marketing, including bumper stickers, pens, etc.

Although graphic design on a Mac is most of the job, it also includes producing a 20-minute training video for phone volunteers, helping to photograph and upload pictures and other information on-line, and occasionally assisting with preparation of bulk and other large mailings, as well as other clerical and customer service duties and errands when needed.

Support for digital content, web posting, and audio production for the KUNM Programming Department.

Create original visuals for use on the KUNM website.

Edit audio as needed for in-house programs, paid announcements, and special projects.

Shoot and/or edit video of studio performances, interviews, and training sessions.

Work with professional staff and volunteers to craft social media and website posts.

Prepares fundraising and broadcast materials, using Adobe Creative Suite including In Design, Photoshop, Premiere, Audition and other video and graphic applications.

Creates and maintains web and social media sites and performs other internet related tasks as assigned.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Gifted graphic artist with a portfolio of work and video sample to bring to the interview.

Dependable with a professional attitude. Ability to incorporate suggestions and revisions on designs as needed by the Development Director.

Adept with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop on a Mac. Audio and Video editing experience and some experience with digital photography required. Experience with the following software applications: In-Design, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Audition, Adobe Premier, Protools, Facebook, and Instagram.

Able to work on and meet tight deadlines. Works well in a welcoming and diverse environment, ability to multi-task.

Illustration ability a plus but not required.
