Position Summary | PositionSummary: The University of New Mexico School of Law invites applicationsfor tenured or tenure-track faculty positions in its Clinical Law Program,starting in the Fall of 2026. The School of Law’s Clinical Law Program is nationallyrecognized as a leader in clinical legal education. It is committed toserving low-income clients and increasing access to justice forhistorically underserved populations. The Clinical Law Program seeks an innovative and dynamic clinicianto join our team. We are particularly interested in clinicians withexperience and interest in the areas of family law, immigration, juvenilecriminal law, or medical-legal partnerships, but we welcome applications from allclinicians interested in joining our program. The UNM School of Law has included clinical faculty in its unitarytenure for over 50 years, reflecting its enduring commitment to experientiallearning and clinical legal education. To support the professional developmentand scholarship of clinical faculty, the School of Law provides generousprofessional development funds as well as course releases and summer funding tosupport scholarship. We value candidates who will contribute diverse backgrounds andperspectives that will enrich our students’ learning and our faculty.Entry-level and experienced clinicians are encouraged to apply. Academic rankand salary will be based on experience and qualifications, but all are tenureor tenure-track positions. Clinic faculty positions involve teaching primarily in theclinical law program, with additional opportunities to teach elsewhere in thecurriculum. Clinic faculty supervise students in all aspects of direct clientrepresentation, as well as community-based projects. They also teach clinicalskills classes.
