Position Summary

The Department ofFamily and Community Medicine seeks a full-time faculty (1.0 FTE) member forthe Physician Assistant program. Thisposition would include responsibilities related to the didactic and clinicaleducation and placement of Physician Assistant Students including courseplanning, design, implementation, instruction, and assessment, and clinicalresponsibilities. This person will serveas a problem-based learning facilitator in various blocks as assigned and as astudent advisor. The faculty member willactively participate in the ongoing program self-assessment process and carryout other duties as negotiated with and assigned by the Program Director (e.g.Community Outreach Coordination, HRSA grant involvement, committees,admissions).

Patient Centered Care
In the clinical area,the candidate will be engaged in a primary care, team-based model exploringinnovative methodology of health care delivery. We have a growing number ofFamily Medicine clinics throughout Albuquerque in which faculty practice. These are all moving toward the PatientCentered Medical Home Model and currently many of these clinics are rated thetop level, PCMH (level 3).

About Albuquerque, NewMexico
Albuquerque, NM is abeautiful city with mountains to the east and a mesa to the west. It is ideal for outdoor activities and sportsall year-round including running, hiking, biking and skiing. Albuquerque is 1hour from Santa Fe, NM and 2.5 hours from Taos, NM, both world famous for theirart and culture. The State of New Mexico is multicultural and diverse with 19indigenous native pueblos, Navajo reservation and three Apache tribal lands. Wehave excellent local cuisine, breathtaking sunsets, multiple cultural andhistoric sites, lakes, rivers, deserts and mountains.

Salary: Salary and lecturerrank commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

MinimumQualifications:

  • Current NCCPAcertification
  • Master’s degreein physician assistant studies
  • Minimum four years’clinical experience in Orthopedics
  • Eligible toobtain NM State PA license
  • Must beeligible to work in the U.S.

PreferredQualifications:

  • Master’s Degreein Public Health
  • Clinicalexperience in a primary care setting
  • Clinical experiencein Emergency Medicine
  • Experienceteaching MD or PA students in the preclinical didactic course(s)
  • Experienceteaching/precepting MD or PA students in the clinical setting
  • Experience inwriting programmatic reports
  • A demonstratedcommitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well asworking with broadly diverse communities
