Position Summary | The Department of Family and Community Medicine seeks apart-time faculty (0.5 FTE) member for the Physician Assistant program. This position would include responsibilitiesrelated to the clinical education and placement of Physician Assistant studentsincluding course planning, design, implementation, instruction, and assessment,and clinical responsibilities. Thisperson will serve as a problem-based learning facilitator in various blocks asassigned and as a student advisor. Thefaculty member will actively participate in the ongoing program self-assessmentprocess and carry out other duties as negotiated with and assigned by theProgram Director (e.g. Community Outreach Coordination, HRSA grant involvement,committees, admissions). Patient Centered Care: in the clinical area, the candidatewill be engaged in a primary care, team-based model exploring innovativemethodology of health care delivery. We have a growing number of Family Medicineclinics throughout Albuquerque in which faculty practice. These are allmoving toward the Patient Centered Medical Home Model and currently many ofthese clinics are rated the top level, PCMH (level 3). About Albuquerque, New Mexico Albuquerque, NM isa beautiful city with mountains to the east and a mesa to the west. It is ideal for outdoor activities and sportsall year-round including running, hiking, biking and skiing. Albuquerque is 1hour from Santa Fe, NM and 2.5 hours from Taos, NM, both world famous for theirart and culture. The State of New Mexico is multicultural and diverse with 19indigenous native pueblos, Navajo reservation and three Apache tribal lands. We have excellent local cuisine, breathtakingsunsets, multiple cultural and historic sites, lakes, rivers, deserts andmountains.
