Position Summary | PositionSummary: TheUniversity of New Mexico School of Law invites applications for a full-time, tenuredor tenured-track faculty position to teach in its Legal Analysis and Communication Program, starting inthe Fall of 2026. Faculty in the program are responsible for teachingElements of Legal Argumentation I & II, the law school’s requiredfirst-year legal writing sequence. ELA I & II focus on developing students’skills in legal reading, research, analysis, and communication. The program’s facultymembers typically teach two first-year sections of approximately 15-20 studentseach (or 30-40 students total). They also teach upper-level writing courses,and the successful candidate will be expected to help design and implement theprogram’s upper-level writing curriculum. At UNM, legal writing faculty serveon all law school committees (including serving as chairs of committees), andare eligible for summer research and teaching grants. The Legal Analysis andCommunication Program is a director-led program that values close collaborationand quality teaching. We value candidates fromdiverse backgrounds and perspectives as we work toward enriching our students’learning through inclusion and enhancing the faculty’s academic mission ofresearch, teaching, service, and community engagement in New Mexico, the UnitedStates, and the world.
