Position Summary


The University of New Mexico, School of Medicine and HealthSciences Center is seeking a candidate that will contribute actively to theclimate of diversity and inclusivity. Weinvite applications for an Open Rank, Open Track position in Midwifery. UNM Obstetrics and Gynecology’s MidwiferyDivision has a busy clinical practice and is active in education.

The position will manage women's health care, focusingparticularly on pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period, care of thenewborn, and the family planning and gynecologic needs of women. The position will practice within the healthcare system and perform consultation, collaborative management, or referral, asindicated by the health status of the client. The position will practice in accord with theStandards for the Practice of Midwifery, as defined by the American College ofNurse-Midwives. The candidate hired willbe expected to participate in the education and training of student nursemidwives and other advanced practice providers, medical students, residents andfellows in the clinical setting. Classroomeducation of these learners may also be a possibility. A demonstrated commitment to diversity,equity, inclusion and student success, as well as working with broadly diversecommunities.

This position offers competitive compensation (salarycommensurate with experience) and a benefits package to include health,professional liability and disability insurance, relocation support, retirementplan, and CME support.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Master’s degree (MSN)
  • Participation in the Certificate Maintenance Program withthe American Midwifery Certification Board (or eligible).
  • CNM license with New Mexico Department of Health (oreligible), or RN license with New Mexico Board of Nursing (or eligible).
  • State of New Mexico Board of Pharmacy certification
  • Federal DEA registration (or eligible)

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience teaching adult learners
  • Experience working in amultidisciplinary environment
  • Interest in participating inclinical research
  • At least one-year clinicalexperience working in academic medical center
  • A demonstrated commitment todiversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working withbroadly diverse communities.
