Position Summary

The University of New Mexico is seeking faculty at an openrank level in the tenure-track (clinical scholar, teaching, research) to jointhe Department of Dental Medicine, Division of Dental Hygiene. The Division ofDental Hygiene has an entry-level Bachelor’s Program, a Bachelor’s DegreeCompletion Program, a Master of Science Program and a continuing dentaleducation program. Additional programsare in development as well. Additionally,the Division faculty participate in clinical activities in a variety ofsettings and research studies.

The successful candidate will be expected to assist with thedevelopment of the clinical, education and research aspects of the program.Effort and focus devoted to clinical and academics and will be adjusted to meetthe needs of the division. The Division faculty have a strong communitypresence and commitment to the University.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

    • Graduation from a CODA and regionally accredited dentalhygiene program.
    • Master's Degree in Dental Hygiene
    • Current Dental Hygiene License in New Mexico or License by hire date
    • Current Local Anesthesia License or certification within one year of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

    • PhD in related field.
    • Experience conducting research and publishing
    • Two to three years experience in teaching
