Position SummaryThe University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center seeks afaculty member to join the
Division of Cardiology. This position is Open rank and Open track. The successful candidate willprovide excellent patient care and, as a member of New Mexico’s only academicmedical center, will actively participate in research and fellow education. Salary and rank will be commensurate withexperience and education.

The north-central New Mexico/Albuquerque area is a uniqueand stunning place in which to live with a diversity of climate, geography, andculture that defies easy description. The city itself sits at the base of the Sandia Mountains along the RioGrande Valley just south of Santa Fe. The central New Mexico weather is nearly ideal with plentiful sun, and moderatetemperatures and there is easy access to varying landscapes and climates bothwithin the State and in close neighboring States. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Board certified/board eligible in CardiovascularDisease by date of hire
  • Board certification/board eligible inEchocardiography
  • Eligible to work in US
  • Level 2 certification in cardiac MRI and cardiacCT

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership skills in coordinating in-patient andout-patient care
  • Experience/interest with broad spectrum ofcardiovascular disease
  • Training and/or experience in diagnosis andmanagement of advanced heart failure and advanced heart failure therapies
  • Teaching experience at all levels of training
  • Experience/interest in scholarly pursuits andmentorship of trainees within the field of cardiology
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion,and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
