The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center seeks a full-time faculty interventional cardiologist to participate in the development of invasive and interventional services at the UNM Health Science Center, the position is open rank and open track. The successful candidate will hold patient care to its highest standard and, as a member of New Mexico’s only academic medical center, will actively participate in research and fellow education. Cath lab faculty also provide Invasive/Interventional services at the Albuquerque VA hospital, which provides tertiary care to much of the southwest and has a mature and busy cardiology service. The two campuses provide ample opportunity for research, specialty coronary and non-coronary interventions, and fellow education.
The north central New Mexico/Albuquerque area is a unique and stunning place in which to live and recreate and has a diversity of climate, geography, and population that defies easy description. The city itself sits at the base of Sandia Mountains along the Rio Grande Valley just south of Santa Fe.
