The DivisionChief will report to the Chair of Internal Medicine; salary and rank will becommensurate with experience. Institution Information:
The UNM Health Sciences Center, Division of Epidemiology,Biostatistics and Preventive Medicine (EBPM) is in the Department of InternalMedicine. The Division consists of some 20 faculty and 15 staff scientists, andpost-doctoral fellows. The Preventive Medicine Residence Program is part of theDivision, and currently includes 3 full time faculty, and 4 residents.

The EBPM faculty members actively conduct independent researchserving as PIs or Co-PIs. The Division faculty collaborate closely with manyUNM Departments and Centers including the Comprehensive Cancer Center (http://cancer.unm.edu/), the Clinical andTranslational Science Center (http://hsc.unm.edu/research/ctsc/), the three NIH-Funded Centers of BiomedicalResearch Excellence, Project ECHO (http://echo.unm.edu),and the Southwest NIDA Clinical Trials Node (https://hsc.unm.edu/medicine/departments/internal-medicine/academic-divisions/epidemiology/clinical-trials-network/current-projects.html),among many others. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. inEpidemiology, Biostatistics, or a closely related field; or M.D. withpost-graduate training in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a closely relatedfield
  • A strong record of peer-reviewed research publications in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, biomedical and health research
  • Established record ofextramural funding
  • Eligibility to work in the US

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated administrative leadership experience,including: program administration, financial management, and personnelmanagement
  • Significant record ofindependent scholarly achievement including successful extramural funding andimpactful publications
  • Substantive experiencementoring early- and mid-career researchers, clinician-researchers, and graduate/medical
  • A demonstratedcommitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well asworking with broadly diverse communities
