Position SummaryThe University ofNew Mexico, Health Sciences Center, Department of Internal Medicine, seeks afaculty member to join the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and SleepMedicine. This position is for an OpenRank, open track. Salary and rank willbe commensurate with experience and education. This position will be primarily located at theUniversity of New Mexico Hospital but you will also rotate at our sisterhospital in Sandoval County.

HSC combines itsfour mission areas - education, research, patient care and community outreach -to provide New Mexicans with the highest level of health care. The School ofMedicine at HSC is celebrated for its innovations in medical education and hasearned a reputation for making diversity in the physician workforce a priority. Our faculty are major contributors to the education ofmedical students and residents at UNM. Asthe only academic medical center for the state, only level one trauma center,this is an amazing opportunity for innovation in teaching and providing carefor both rural and urban populations from diverse cultures. Critical care facilities include a 24-bedmedical intensive care unit, 24-bed trauma surgical intensive care unit and24-bed neuroscience intensive care unit but we anticipate moving into the newCritical Care Tower with a total of 96 ICU beds in 2025.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be board certified in Internal Medicine; and
  • MD or DO or MBBS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education of fellows and housestaff in pulmonary and critical care medicine
  • Scholarly activity or quality improvement projects
  • Board eligible/certified in Pulmonary
  • Board eligible/certified inCritical Care Medicine
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and studentsuccess, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
