Position Summary

The University of New Mexico, Health Sciences Center,Department of Internal Medicine, seeks faculty members to join the Division ofInfectious Diseases. The Division of Infectious Diseases is based at bothUniversity Hospital and at the affiliated Veterans Administration MedicalCenter, providing clinical services, outreach clinics and education throughoutNew Mexico. The division cares for aunique array of infectious diseases in a diverse, underserved population. Asthe only academic medical center for the state, opportunity exists forinnovation in teaching and providing care for both rural and urban populationsfrom diverse cultures. We seek aclinician that will provide consultative services on the inpatient services andoutpatient clinics.

This position is Open Rank and Open Track for a full timeand a part time Faculty Physician. Salaryand rank will be commensurate with experience and education.

These positions may be subject to a criminal recordsscreening in accordance with New Mexico law.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have been board certified in Internal Medicine at least once (even if not currently);
  • Must be board certified/board eligible in Infectious Diseases by date of hire;
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical experience withinpatient infectious diseases consultations in the hospital;
  • Clinical experience with outpatient infectious diseases consultationsand ambulatory parenteral antibiotic therapy administration and monitoring;
  • Experience in education involving medical students, residents orsubspecialty fellows in Infectious Diseases;
  • A demonstratedcommitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadlydiverse communities.
