Position Summary

UNMNeurology seeks an Epileptologist tojoin the Neurology team. The positionwill be part of a team of faculty in providing quality patient care in theinpatient and outpatient setting at UNM Hospital.

Clinicalresponsibilities include coverage/call on adult neurology inpatient service,outpatient clinic in neurology or specialty clinics, and reading of inpatientand outpatient adult electroencephalograms (EEGs). Academic responsibilitiesinclude participation in teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.Research responsibilities include participating in clinical trials programs inthe department.

UNM Hospital is the tertiary care center for the State and theonly Comprehensive Stroke Center, NAEC level 4 epilepsy center, and ALS / MDAcenter in the State. The UNM Neurology Department has 45 full-time andpart-time attending physicians and is home to well-established Residency andmultiple Fellowship programs.

About Albuquerque, New Mexico

Albuquerque, NM is a beautiful city with Sandia Mountains to theeast and mesa to the west. At more thana mile-high elevation, this high desert environment provides beautiful sunnydays but also the variety of all four seasons. Albuquerque is 1hour from Santa Fe, NM and 2.5 hours from Taos, NM, both world famous for theirart and culture. Qualifications

MinimumQualifications:

  • MD Degreeor equivalent
  • Boardcertified/eligible in Neurology.
  • CompletedAdult Neurology Residency training prior to start date.
  • Eligiblefor Medical licensure in the state of New Mexico
  • Eligibleto work in the U.S.

PreferredQualifications:

  • Epilepsyneurology fellowship
  • 2-3 yearsof clinical experience managing neurology patients
  • Ademonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, aswell as working with broadly diverse communities.
