Position Summary | UNM Neurology seeks aNeuromuscular Faculty to join the Neurology team. The position will be part of a team of facultyin providing quality patient care in the inpatient and outpatient setting atUNM Hospital. This position will participate inthe assessment and treatment of neuromuscular disorders in our ClinicalNeuroscience Center including: carpal tunnel syndrome, neuropathy,radiculopathy, muscle disease, ALS, muscular dystrophy, OPMD, and myastheniagravis. The ALS and MDA clinics arecertified as Care Centers by their national organizations. Clinical responsibilities includedirect patient care in a busy outpatient clinical setting, as well as inpatientand consult attending supervision of residents, fellows and medical studentsand midlevel providers. Academicresponsibilities include participation in teaching of medical students,residents, and fellows and research activities of the department. Based onqualifications leadership opportunities may be available. UNMHospital is the tertiary care center for the State and the only NAEC level 4epilepsy center, and ALS / MDA center and comprehensive movement disordercenter in the State. The UNM NeurologyDepartment has 35 full-time and part-time attending physicians and is home towell-established Residency and multiple Fellowship programs. |
