Position Summary

We are seeking a board certified, or board eligibleneurologist to join our Neuromuscular team in an open rank position. The successful candidate will join a team offaculty in providing quality patient care in the inpatient and outpatientsetting at UNM Hospital. The incumbent will be involved in assessment andtreatment of neuromuscular disorders in our Clinical Neuroscience Centerincluding: carpal tunnel syndrome, neuropathy, radiculopathy, muscle disease,ALS, muscular dystrophy, OPMD, and myasthenia gravis. The ALS and MDA clinicsare certified as Care Centers by their national organizations.

Clinical responsibilities include direct patient care in abusy outpatient clinical setting, as well as inpatient and consult attendingsupervision of residents, fellows and medical students and midlevel providers.Academic responsibilities include participation in teaching of medicalstudents, residents, and fellows and research activities of the department.Based on qualifications leadership opportunities may be available.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD Degree or equivalent
  • Boardcertified/board eligible in Neurology
  • Fellowshiptrained in respective specialty
  • Eligiblefor Medical licensure in the state of New Mexico
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferencewill be given to candidates with strong clinical and teaching skills
  • Skillsin all aspects of clinical Neurology
  • Strengthof training
