Position Summary

UNM School of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery is an academic-affiliated medical center that is seeking a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician to become part of the department. With a catchment population of over 800,000 and very little competition, the area has a very strong need for PM&R services. The UNM hospital is a 556-bed, Level 1 trauma center who formed a joint venture, Lovelace UNM Rehabilitation Hospital (LUNMRH) which is the primary training site for the PM&R residency program. Applicants with interests in PM&R are all welcome and will be well-supported with the multi-specialty team focusing on using a wide range of minimally invasive surgical and non-surgical techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree
  • Board certified or board eligible in PM&R

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in obtaining and managing research grants
  • Publications in peer reviewed journals during the past two years
  • Two or more years of independent practice
  • Experience in resident education
  • Academic teaching experience
