Position Summary

The faculty and staff of University of New Mexico College of Nursing welcome you to a tradition of excellence in nursing education, clinical practice and research. Our focus is on building evidence for effective practice and translating that evidence-based knowledge to practice and policy environments with an emphasis in rural health.

We are currently recruiting a faculty member for the Nursing Administration MSN Concentration Coordinator position. This position reports to and works closely with the MSN Program Director and other concentration coordinators to ensure coordination across all concentrations within the MSN program. The directors and coordinators facilitate adequate communication for development and effective delivery of degree programs and concentrations while minimizing areas of overlap or duplication. Communication among all individuals involved in program development and delivery is critical to effective functioning. The Concentration Coordinator also works within the established faculty governance structure as appropriate regarding curriculum and policy development affecting the concentration and the broader program. Individuals in the Concentration Coordinator and Program Director positions are responsible for maintaining effective communication with the Associate Deans and ensuring adherence to College of Nursing and University policies.

The incoming faculty will teach and maintain an active clinical practice. The combination of teaching and practice is a fundamental component of our educational mission. Responsibilities include classroom, online and simulation teaching, mentoring, advising and precepting students, assisting with clinical placements and student oversight, and participation in program activities and committees to ensure stated program goals are achieved.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

· Doctoral prepared in nursing or related field

· RN with five years’ experience

· Three years Leadership or Administrative experience within the last five years

· Graduate level teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • National certification in Executive Leadership or Administrative Practice
  • Precepting experience
  • Experience in online teaching
  • Experience in program administration and/or curriculum development
