Position SummaryTheDepartment of Pediatrics at the University of New Mexico Children’s Hospital isseeking a BC/BE Pediatrician to join our Pediatric Hospitalist team. Salary andrank will be commensurate with training and experience.

The PediatricHospitalist Group staffs the General Pediatric Unit with 34 beds, PediatricSubspecialty Care Unit with 20 beds, and Carrie Tingley Rehabilitation Unitwith 15 beds. The care includes general pediatric inpatient care, consultationto subspecialty providers, sedation services, and PICC line placement. Amultidisciplinary team and subspecialty providers support the PediatricHospitalist physicians. Resident physicians and medical students work with thePediatric Hospitalists on the majority of our medical teams. We serve a diversepopulation in metropolitan and rural communities of New Mexico as well asneighboring states. We are looking for people who are dedicated to generalinpatient pediatric care with a commitment to teaching.

New Mexico offersexcellent weather and outdoor recreation with multiple National Forests andState Parks. Albuquerque rests at the base of the Sandia Mountains and islocated 45 minutes from Santa Fe. Albuquerque also hosts theInternational Balloon Fiesta which is the largest gathering of hot air balloonsin the world. The Land of Enchantment is one of the most beautiful places tolive in the Southwest.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Able to obtain state licensure(s) in the state of New Mexico.
  • Must have an MD, DO, or equivalent by time of hire.
  • BC/BE in General Pediatric.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in pediatric acute care medicine.
  • Experience in pediatric inpatient care.
  • Experience teaching house staff and medical students.
  • Experience in quality improvement, research, or scholarly work.
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
